Pellet packages

San Antonio clinics that sell hormone pellets usually price per insertion. One clinic's published estimate is $300 to $500 per insertion every 3 to 4 months, or about $1,200 to $2,000 a year ^[10]; a third-party site found Biote pellet insertions for women at $395 to $450 at the clinics it checked ^[11]. Biote's own annual report says FDA does not review compounded products for safety or effectiveness, and most of its pellets come from its own outsourcing facility ^[12]. Testosterone: low T or getting older?

Testosterone labels restrict use to men with a diagnosed cause of low testosterone, such as primary or hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and say benefit has not been shown for age-related decline ^[14]. In the TRAVERSE trial of 5,204 men aged 45 to 80, major heart events occurred in 7.0% on testosterone and 7.3% on placebo, but the testosterone group had more pulmonary embolism, atrial fibrillation and acute kidney injury ^[15]. The oral testosterone undecanoate products lost their blood pressure boxed warning in July 2025, though blood pressure increases remain a listed warning ^[16]. Menopause care: timing and new labels

The Menopause Society's 2022 statement says the benefits of hormone therapy outweigh the risks for most healthy women with symptoms who are under 60 or within 10 years of menopause ^[17]. FDA's November 2025 action removed several boxed-warning items from menopause hormone labels, though not the endometrial cancer warning for estrogen used alone ^[18].
