How we check a company
Every company gets the same test, whether or not it could ever pay us.
- 1
Read the price where it is sold
We take each price from the company's or drugmaker's own page, write down the date, and list what it leaves out: visits, labs, shipping and dose step-ups.
- 2
Check the record
We search FDA warning letters, BBB profiles, court filings and FTC actions before we write a review.
- 3
Apply one rule
Live claims FDA cited, a BBB Pattern of Complaints alert, a regulator or court finding, or peptides that cannot be compounded means Avoid. We never link to a company rated Avoid.
Where our reviews stand
- Clean36No FDA letter, BBB complaint alert or regulator action found.
- Use caution7A past FDA letter whose cited claims were fixed, and a reasonable record.
- Avoid10Fails the rule. No links, whatever the company pays.
- Not yet rated5Not enough confirmed to rate yet, so no links.
FDA warning letters, tracked
On Mar 3, 2026, FDA announced warning letters to 30 telehealth companies over how they marketed compounded GLP-1s [7]. Our tracker lists each letter with what FDA cited and links to the letter itself. The newest went to Empower Pharmacy, a large compounding pharmacy [8].

Questions people ask
Is Wellchosen Health a medical provider?
No. Wellchosen Health is an independent consumer guide. It does not prescribe, sell or ship any drug or treatment, and nothing on the site is medical advice. For care, talk with a licensed clinician. In an emergency, call 911.
How much does Zepbound cost without insurance?
What is the cheapest brand GLP-1 without insurance?
How does Wellchosen Health make money?
Two ways: affiliate links to some telehealth companies, which are placeholders until we join those programs, and labeled Sponsored placements for local practices on city pages, from $300 a month. Companies rated Avoid or Not yet rated never get affiliate links, and payment never changes a verdict. Details are on how we make money.
How do you decide a company is rated Avoid?
A company is rated Avoid if it has an FDA warning letter whose cited claims are still live, a BBB Pattern of Complaints alert, a regulator, state board or court finding against it, or it sells peptides that cannot legally be compounded. Use caution means a past FDA letter with the claims fixed and no Avoid trigger. A BBB letter grade alone does not set a verdict, but we always show it. Clean means none of these. The full rule is in our editorial standards.
Has a doctor reviewed these pages?
Not yet. Pages are written by the Wellchosen Health editorial team from FDA labels, peer-reviewed trials and government data. Each page shows "Medical review: pending" until a named licensed clinician reviews it. Our medical review policy explains how a reviewer will be added.
