How we check

Cash-pay care by city: weight loss, hormone therapy and concierge medicine

We have 174 city pages covering 55 US metro areas in 27 states and Washington, DC. Each one pairs dated national prices with sourced local facts, such as the adult obesity rate from CDC PLACES (28.2% of adults in Fulton County, Georgia [2]) and whether the state's Medicaid program covers GLP-1s for obesity, which 13 states did as of January 2026 [3].

Medical review: pending. A licensed clinician has not yet reviewed this page.

A Wellchosen Health city page shows what one kind of cash-pay care costs in one metro area, with sourced local health data and the local health systems that offer it.

How city pages work

Each city page covers one kind of care in one metro area: medical weight loss, semaglutide, tirzepatide, hormone therapy, or concierge and longevity medicine. It pairs national prices, such as the self-pay prices on our GLP-1 cost tracker, with local facts we can source: population and income from Census QuickFacts [1], adult obesity and diabetes rates from CDC PLACES [2], the state's Medicaid coverage of GLP-1s for obesity [3], the state medical board, and the local health systems that offer the service.

We name real health systems and practices with facts only: what they offer, a published price where there is one, and a link. We do not rank local practices or call any of them the best. When we could not source enough local facts for a page, the page says so and is kept out of search results until we can.

About the Sponsored box

A city page may show one box labeled Sponsored. It is a paid placement for one local practice, capped at one per topic per city. It is never an endorsement and never changes what the page says about prices, safety or providers. Practices can learn more on sponsor a city, and the full money picture is on how we make money.

Looking for care outside these cities? Start with the national guides: find a weight loss clinic, HRT clinics near you, find a concierge doctor and where to get tirzepatide near you.

Questions people ask

How do you pick the cities?

We chose metro areas where people search most for cash-pay weight loss, hormone therapy and concierge care. Each city gets only the topics with enough local search interest, so some cities have one page and others have five.

Is the Sponsored practice on a city page recommended?

No. A Sponsored box is a paid, labeled placement for one local practice, from $300 a month and capped at one per topic per city. It is never an endorsement, and it never changes what the page says about prices, safety or other providers.

Where does the local health data come from?

From public sources, each cited on the page: population, income and age from U.S. Census QuickFacts [1], adult obesity and diabetes rates from CDC PLACES [2], and state Medicaid GLP-1 coverage from KFF [3]. Health system details link to the system's own pages.

Does Medicaid cover GLP-1s for weight loss in my state?

It depends on the state. KFF found 13 state Medicaid programs covered GLP-1s for obesity under fee-for-service as of January 2026, down from 16 in October 2025 [3]. Each city page states what is known for its state.

Why does a city page say some facts are unknown?

We only publish local facts we can source. If a page lacks enough sourced local facts, it says what is missing and stays out of search results until the gaps are filled, rather than guessing.
