Hormone therapy in Palm Beach: HRT and TRT clinics

Hormone replacement therapy in Palm Beach often comes down to Medicare: with 26.1% of county residents 65 or older [1], many patients will find that Part D can cover hormone prescriptions while Original Medicare generally pays for visits, not the hormones themselves [2]. Without coverage, generic estradiol starts near $20 for 90 tablets [3].

Hormone replacement therapy is prescription estrogen (with progestogen if the uterus is intact) or testosterone, used to treat symptoms or conditions caused by low hormone levels.

A county where hormone questions meet Medicare

Palm Beach County's over-65 share, 26.1% of 1,575,726 residents, is more than double Dallas's 11.8% [1][6]. That shapes local hormone care in two ways. Many patients are past the window the new labeling favors for starting systemic therapy, and many are paying through Medicare rather than a job-based plan.

Starting after 60: what the 2025 and 2026 label changes say

Three phrases came out of the boxed warning on menopause hormones after FDA's November 2025 announcement: heart disease, breast cancer and probable dementia. The same action set a preferred starting window, under 60 or inside ten years of the final period, while letting the patient and prescriber decide how long to continue [7]. FDA cleared the first six rewritten labels on February 12, 2026 [8]. The Menopause Society reached a similar line in 2022, judging the balance favorable for most healthy, symptomatic women who are younger than 60 or within a decade of menopause [9]. For a 65-year-old with new symptoms, that is a conversation to have in detail, not a default. Vaginal estrogen was part of the same label update [8].

How Medicare treats hormone prescriptions

Think of it as two separate bills. Parts A and B may pick up the office visit, according to Healthline, but usually not the estradiol or progesterone; those go through a Part D drug plan, where your copay depends on which tier the plan assigns the drug [2]. Some telehealth menopause clinics do not take Medicare. Midi Health, for example, treats Medicare as out of network (self-pay at $250 for a first visit and $150 for a follow-up) and does not accept Medicaid [10].

Pellets and bioidentical packages

Pellet therapy is sold through thousands of clinics nationwide. Biote reported more than 9,200 practitioners it has trained and over 5,300 partnered clinics as of December 31, 2025; in the same 10-K it concedes that the safety and effectiveness of compounded products are not checked by FDA [14]. Insertions for women run about $395 to $450 at clinics one third-party site checked [15]. When the National Academies weighed compounded bioidentical hormones in 2020, it called the evidence for their clinical use insufficient [16]. In this state, the Florida Board of Pharmacy is the licensing body for the pharmacies that mix them [5]. See pellet costs and our Biote review.

Testosterone for men

TRAVERSE, which enrolled 5,204 men aged 45 to 80 with low testosterone and heart risk, found major cardiac events in 7.0% of the gel group and 7.3% on placebo. Blood clots in the lung, an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation, and sudden kidney injury showed up more often with testosterone [17]. Pharmacy coupons put a 1 mL generic cypionate vial at roughly $20 to $31 in mid-October [18]. See the TRT guide and TRT costs.

Before starting or continuing

The endometrial cancer box remains on systemic estrogen-only products [7]. Children in the home matter for testosterone gel users: its boxed warning reports virilization in children who touched application sites [19]. Every testosterone label now lists rising blood pressure [20]. For an emergency, call 911.
