How a Tampa prescription gets filled

Any licensed Tampa prescriber can write for Wegovy. The Wegovy tablet costs $149 at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg and $299 at 9 and 25 mg ^[1]; per the label, the schedule is 1.5 mg on days 1 to 30, 4 mg on days 31 to 60, 9 mg on days 61 to 90, then 25 mg ^[6]. Florida Medicaid, Medicare and 2027

KFF's January 2026 list of 13 Medicaid programs covering obesity GLP-1s does not include Florida ^[2]. For Part D enrollees who qualify, both Wegovy forms are on the GLP-1 Bridge at $50 a month ^[8] ^[9]. Novo plans to lower Wegovy's list price to $675 a month on January 1, 2027 ^[10].

In the adult weight trials, nausea hit 44% of people on Wegovy 2.4 mg versus 16% on placebo ^[6]. Intense stomach pain that does not let up needs care. Anyone with MEN 2, or with medullary thyroid cancer in their own or family history, should not use it. Stop 2 months or more ahead of a planned pregnancy. Insulin or a sulfonylurea raises the chance of a low ^[6]. Signs of a serious allergic reaction mean calling 911.
