Semaglutide on an Indianapolis budget
Indianapolis's median household income is $66,219 [2]. Here is what a year of brand semaglutide costs at manufacturer self-pay prices: $3,588 on the 9 mg or 25 mg Wegovy pill at $299 a month, and $4,188 on the Wegovy pen at $349 [1]. The first-year pen cost drops to $3,888 if your first two low-dose fills land inside the $199 offer [1]. None of these include visit or lab fees.

Diabetes in Marion County
Diagnosed diabetes runs at about 13.0% of adults in the city and in Marion County alike [3] [4]. Ozempic is the semaglutide product labeled for type 2 diabetes, and it carries no weight-loss approval [7]. A commercial plan that covers it plus Novo's savings card can bring Ozempic to $25 a month [6]. See Ozempic cost and Ozempic vs Wegovy.
TrumpRx, Costco and NovoCare
TrumpRx lists the Wegovy pill from $149 and the Wegovy pen and Ozempic from $199 a month, but it is a portal that sends you to the manufacturer or a pharmacy coupon, and it does not take insurance [8] [9]. Novo says its self-pay prices also apply through partners including Costco and GoodRx and at more than 70,000 pharmacies [10]. Read TrumpRx explained.
Compounded vials and Indiana licenses
After FDA declared the semaglutide shortage over on February 21, 2025 [11], clinic-made versions stayed unapproved, with no FDA check on safety, effectiveness or quality, and FDA has tied some hospital visits to dosing mix-ups with them [12]. Our compounded semaglutide page has the detail. Indiana physicians are licensed by the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana [13]. Nearby: Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville and tirzepatide in Indianapolis.
Know the warning signs
Stomach pain that is intense and keeps going could be pancreatitis; stop the drug and get seen [14]. Lows are more likely alongside insulin or a sulfonylurea, so ask what symptoms to watch. Swelling of the face or throat needs urgent help. MTC or MEN 2 in you or a close relative rules semaglutide out. Wegovy should stop once a pregnancy is recognized. Emergencies go to 911.
