Tirzepatide is Lilly's weekly GIP and GLP-1 shot: Zepbound when prescribed for weight or sleep apnea, Mounjaro when prescribed for type 2 diabetes.
Ordering Zepbound from a Las Vegas address
A prescriber with a Nevada license sends the order to LillyDirect Pharmacy. A partner pharmacy phones you to go over details and savings, then you pick home shipping or a Walmart counter, both free [1]. Lilly charges the same for vials and the four-dose KwikPen [1], which went on sale February 23, 2026 [5].

LillyDirect menu, strength by strength
| Strength | Per month | Catch | Ref |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 mg starter | $299 | Four weeks, then the dose steps up | [1] |
| 5 mg | $399 | No refill window | [1] |
| 7.5, 10, 12.5 or 15 mg | $449 | Refill within 45 days | [1] |
| Same strengths, refilled late | $499 (7.5 mg) / $699 (10 to 15 mg) | Regular price | [1] |
The 45-day refill rule
The $449 price on higher doses depends on refilling within 45 days under Lilly's Self Pay Journey Program. Miss that window and the 10 mg to 15 mg doses jump to $699 a month [1]. A trip, a missed delivery or a pause for side effects can trigger it, so set a reminder. At $449 a month, a year costs $5,388, about 7.3% of the city's $73,877 median household income [6].
Checking a prescriber in Nevada
Whether you see a clinic on the Strip or an online service, the prescriber treating you in Nevada should hold a Nevada license. You can look it up with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners [3]. Nevada Medicaid does not cover tirzepatide for obesity [4]; Mounjaro coverage for type 2 diabetes is a separate question for your plan. See Mounjaro vs Zepbound.
Compounded tirzepatide after the shortage
FDA resolved the tirzepatide shortage on December 19, 2024. Enforcement discretion for 503A pharmacies ended March 5, 2025, and for 503B outsourcing facilities on March 19, 2025 [7]. The Fifth Circuit upheld FDA's shortage decisions on August 27, 2026 [8]. Any compounded tirzepatide you are offered is not FDA-approved, and FDA has not reviewed it for safety, effectiveness or quality [9]. Details are in compounded tirzepatide.
Trial averages
Two trial figures, stated as averages: SURMOUNT-1 adults without diabetes lost 15.0%, 19.5% and 20.9% of body weight at 72 weeks on 5, 10 and 15 mg, against 3.1% on placebo [10]; in SURMOUNT-4, those moved to placebo after 36 weeks gained back 14.0% over the following year while those kept on it lost 5.5% more [11]. Western neighbors: Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Diego and Denver.
Tirzepatide safety from the label
Stop and get care if you have severe stomach pain that does not go away, a possible sign of pancreatitis [12]. Seek help for a rash with swelling, or trouble breathing. Hypoglycemia is more likely when tirzepatide is used with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Tirzepatide has a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors and is contraindicated with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. Zepbound should be stopped once pregnancy is recognized. Call 911 for emergencies.
