Tablet or weekly shot: the Scottsdale question
The tablet is a daily habit. Per the Wegovy label it starts at 1.5 mg for 30 days, steps to 4 mg and 9 mg, and reaches 25 mg on day 91; each dose goes down first thing in the morning with at most 4 ounces of plain water and a 30-minute wait before anything else [5]. The shot is weekly, beginning at 0.25 mg and rising every four weeks [5]. Our pill vs injection page lines up side effects and results.

Scottsdale cash math by form
NovoCare charges $149 for the 1.5 mg tablet and $299 for 9 or 25 mg; every standard pen dose is $349, and Ozempic for diabetes is $349 from 0.25 to 1 mg [1] [6]. Stay on the $299 maintenance tablet for a year and you spend $3,588; a year of pens at $349 is $4,188, roughly 3.8% of the local median income [1] [2]. TrumpRx lists the tablet from $149 and the pen from $199, but it only routes buyers to the maker or a pharmacy coupon, and a prescription is still needed [8] [9]. An older city: Medicare and the Bridge
More than a quarter of Scottsdale residents, 26.4%, are 65 or older [2]. Part D enrollees who meet the BMI and health criteria can get Wegovy through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge for a $50 monthly copay [12]. Commercially insured Maricopa County patients with diabetes, where 10.6% of adults have the diagnosis and 30.4% have obesity [3], may get Ozempic for as little as $25 a month if their plan covers it [6]; Ozempic itself carries no weight-loss approval [7]. See Medicare and GLP-1s and Ozempic cost.
Arizona checks before you buy
Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved, and FDA has reported dosing errors with compounded injections, some ending in hospital stays [10]. Arizona pharmacies answer to the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy [11] and physicians to the Arizona Medical Board [13]. More in compounded semaglutide. Next door: semaglutide in Phoenix; farther out, Las Vegas and Albuquerque. Non-drug options in town: Scottsdale medical weight loss.
Label cautions
Intense stomach pain that keeps going can signal pancreatitis, a labeled risk [5]. The rodent-based boxed warning on thyroid C-cell tumors means people with MEN 2, or medullary thyroid cancer in their own or a relative's history, should not take semaglutide. Lows are likelier alongside insulin or sulfonylureas. Swelling of the face or trouble breathing needs urgent care. Wegovy is stopped once pregnancy is known. Call 911 in an emergency.
