What the evidence says

Neither company sells a test that a US guideline body in our research recommends for healthy adults as a whole panel. The guidance in our research is narrower, such as the ACC/AHA cholesterol guideline's use of a coronary calcium score for adults 40 to 75 at intermediate risk [4]. For outcomes data, fitness has a large observational study: in 122,007 adults the fittest group had an adjusted hazard ratio for death of 0.20 versus the least fit, in an observational study [5]. See the VO2 max test page.

Who each fits

  • Function Health: people who want the broadest US panel twice a year, and a route to MRI add-ons. Our Function Health review covers the details.
  • InsideTracker: athletes and people who want diet and training suggestions, or who live outside the US.
  • Superpower: lowest single-panel price; see Superpower vs Function Health.
