NBC Bay Area reported in June 2026 that Washington's Department of Health issued a Notice of Immediate Jeopardy to Aequita Pharmacy, Mochi's former compounding supplier[20]. Eli Lilly also sued Mochi and Aequita, and a Sep 2026 ruling let state unfair competition claims proceed against the Aequita defendants[21]. The record is in our Mochi Health review.

The record behind Mochi Health's rating

Mochi has no FDA warning letter that we found[13]. Washington's Department of Health issued a Notice of Immediate Jeopardy to Aequita Pharmacy, its former compounding supplier, after the state substantiated whistleblower complaints, NBC Bay Area reported[20]. Lilly's lawsuit against Mochi and Aequita is still open in part[21]. Our rule counts a regulator, state board or court finding against the company itself, so neither record makes Mochi Avoid.

Mochi says it now uses a “network of pharmacies” and does not name them, so a buyer cannot check who makes the drug. Our standards explain the rule.

Same drugs, with a named record

Mochi sells brand Zepbound, Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Foundayo, plus compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, with visits that can be billed to insurance. The list below covers both sides. Brand drugs are FDA-approved; compounded versions are not. If coverage matters, start with our insurance coverage guide.

Insurance may pay for visits even when it does not pay for the drug. Check your plan's formulary before you choose a brand-only program.

Checklist for leaving Mochi

  1. Ask the new program to name its compounding pharmacy before you pay, then look up that pharmacy's state license and the FDA letter tracker.
  2. If you have insurance, ask whether the new program bills visits to your plan and handles prior authorization for brand drugs. Ro says it will check coverage for Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound pens and handle the paperwork[1].
  3. Compare the yearly cost, not only the monthly one: memberships, visit fees and the drug.
  4. Tell your new prescriber what you take now and your current dose; the switching guide explains label guidance.
  5. Check the brand self-pay prices on the GLP-1 cost tracker before you choose a compounded drug.

Safety

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. FDA asks patients to discard a multi-dose vial 28 days after first use and not to use an injectable GLP-1 that arrives warm[19]. Severe stomach pain that will not go away can be a sign of pancreatitis; get care right away, and call 911 in an emergency.
