What MedisourceRx is
Nivagen Pharmaceuticals announced on Sep 23, 2024 that it sold its MedisourceRx business unit, "an FDA registered 503B outsourcing facility," to Hims & Hers [2]. FDA lists MedisourceRx at Los Alamitos, CA [1], and its 2025 Form 483 gives 10525 Humbolt St [6].
Hims & Hers' 10-K for 2025 says its facilities include "a licensed 503B compounding outsourcing facility," that it "may also offer access to drugs compounded by facilities referred to as 503B outsourcing facilities, including MedisourceRx," and that it currently uses only 503A pharmacies for compounded GLP-1 products [5].
503B registration
FDA's registered outsourcing facility list, checked Oct 24, 2026, shows MedisourceRx with a most recent registration of Jan 2, 2026, a last inspection of Jun 10, 2025, a Form 483 issued, and intent to compound sterile drugs from bulk [1]. FDA says registration is not approval of the facility or its drugs [7].

Which providers we review use it
MedisourceRx is tied to Hims & Hers [2] [5]. We rate Hims weight loss and Hers weight loss Avoid, and we review Hims testosterone and Hers menopause too. Hims also received an FDA warning letter on Sep 9, 2025 [9]; see our FDA warning letter tracker. Biote owns a 503B facility in the same way; see Asteria Health.
What it means for a Hims or Hers patient
Medicine made by MedisourceRx is a compounded drug, and compounded drugs are not FDA-approved [10]. FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they reach patients. Our pages on compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide explain the legal limits.
- Read the label. The pharmacy name and address on the vial or box should match a pharmacy you can look up. FDA lists a pharmacy name on the label that you think might be fraudulent as a red flag [11].
- Check the license with the state board. For a 503B facility, check FDA's registered outsourcing facility list first [1]. FDA's BeSafeRx page links every state board of pharmacy license search [12]. Check your own state too.
- Check the website with NABP. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy runs a Safe Site Search on Safe.Pharmacy and says a safe online pharmacy accepts only valid prescriptions, is licensed where it is located and where you live, and has a pharmacist you can reach [13].
- Never buy research-use-only vials. They are not legal for human use and are not pharmacy products.
- Report problems. FDA asks people to report side effects or quality problems with any medicine to MedWatch [11]. For a medical emergency, call 911.
Other pharmacies are on all the pharmacies we checked.
