Our verdict
Use cautionProvisional verdict. Our research flagged SkinnyRx for a manual check that has not been done yet. It has a recent FDA warning letter, and its site loads in a way our tools could not read, so whether the cited claims were fixed, and what it charges, are both open questions. If the cited claims are still live, the rating becomes Avoid.
- FDA record
- Warning letter dated Feb 20 2026, citing sameness claims and "SkinnyRx" on pictured vial labels [1]. Whether these are still live could not be checked.
- BBB
- No confirmed BBB record. We could not check SkinnyRx's BBB profile as of Oct 17 2026, so this rating does not rest on a good BBB record and stays provisional until we do.
- Best for
- Only buyers who can confirm the price, pharmacy and refund terms in writing before paying.
- Watch out
- We have not yet confirmed this company's BBB record. We could not check whether the claims FDA cited, or vial images labeled "SkinnyRx", are still on its site; if they are, this rating becomes Avoid. Trustpilot reviewers report refund denials and subscriptions they did not expect [2].
How much SkinnyRx costs: what we could not confirm
SkinnyRx's site builds its pages in the browser, and on Oct 17 2026 our fetch returned only the page title and description, with no prices. We will not print figures we cannot trace to the company. Before you pay, get these in writing:
- The monthly price for semaglutide and for tirzepatide at your dose, and whether higher doses cost more.
- Whether the price requires a prepaid bundle. One Trustpilot reviewer cites a "no refunds on bundles" policy, which we could not confirm [2].
- Whether the plan auto-renews, and how to cancel.
- The name of the pharmacy that fills the order.
To judge a quote, compare it with the dated prices in our semaglutide cost and cheapest tirzepatide pages. For reference, Direct Meds charged $297 a month for compounded semaglutide and $399 for compounded tirzepatide on Oct 17 2026, all-inclusive [3].
What SkinnyRx sells
FDA's letter describes SkinnyRx selling compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide from its website [1]. We could not confirm forms, doses, the pharmacy, the states served or the refund terms. Trustpilot reviews also mention an oral product [2]; no compounded oral GLP-1 is FDA-approved.
The FDA warning letter, in detail
FDA reviewed skinnyrx.com in December 2025 and sent its letter on Feb 20 2026, as part of a wave of 30 letters to telehealth firms announced March 3 [4]. The letter quotes these claims [1]:
- "from the same family as GLP-1 treatments like Mounjaro® and Zepbound®"
- "Get access to the same active ingredient as name-brand GLP-1 medications"
- "It contains the same active ingredient as FDA-approved medications"
- Pictured vial labels reading "SkinnyRx", which FDA said implies SkinnyRx is the compounder
FDA says calling a compounded drug the same as an approved one, or putting the telehealth brand on the vial, misleads buyers about who makes the drug and whether it was reviewed [5]. MedVi and Ivim got letters in the same wave for similar issues; see our MedVi and Ivim reviews and the full FDA warning letter tracker.
Why the rating is provisional
Under our rating rules, a warning letter whose cited claims are still live means Avoid; a past letter with the claims fixed means Caution. We could not see SkinnyRx's product pages or vial images, so we could not tell which applies. This page is marked as unconfirmed until we can.
What reviewers say
SkinnyRx holds 4.7 on Trustpilot from 5,425 reviews, 1,690 in the last 12 months, on a profile it claimed in February 2024. The negative reviews describe an oral product that did not work for them, refused refunds, and being enrolled in a subscription without realizing it [2]. It has no confirmed BBB record: we could not check its BBB profile.
Who should consider it
Only someone who can get the price, pharmacy name and refund terms in writing first. If you want a compounded GLP-1 from a program whose prices and FDA status we could check, start with the options below or our online GLP-1 program comparison. Our guide to compounded semaglutide explains the legal limits on these drugs.
Safety
Compounded GLP-1s are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality [13]. FDA had received 990 adverse event reports for compounded semaglutide and more than 730 for compounded tirzepatide as of May 31 2026 [6]. Approved tirzepatide carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors in rats, and its label says to stop if pancreatitis is suspected, such as severe stomach pain that will not go away [7]. Call 911 for a severe allergic reaction.
