Is MedVi legit? What the records show
MedVi is an operating business that names its partner pharmacies on its site [4]. The question is how it treats customers. BBB's profile, opened Mar 17 2025, shows an F rating, no accreditation, 751 complaints in three years and 135 complaints with no response [1]. Complaint themes include delayed shipments that broke people's dosing schedules, recurring charges with no product sent, and payment card concerns. Under our rating rules, a BBB D or F is enough for avoid.
MedVi also has a large number of customer reviews on Trustpilot [5]. We do not report review-site scores or star ratings. Review volume does not cancel out the BBB record, and the BBB complaints are the ones about money and missed doses.
The February 2026 FDA letter
FDA's letter to MEDVi, dated Feb 20 2026, quoted "Same active ingredient as Wegovy and Ozempic" and "Same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound" from its compounded drug marketing, and said the MEDVi name on pictured product labels implied MEDVi made the drugs [2]. It was one of 30 letters FDA announced on Mar 3 2026 [6].
On Oct 17 2026 the "same active ingredient" phrases were not on glp1.medvi.org. We could not check the product images for MEDVi-branded labels, and the main medvi.io site blocks automated reading. More letters are in our FDA warning letter tracker.
What MedVi costs
| Item | Price | Terms | Checked | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compounded semaglutide injection | $179 first month, then $299 a refill | Secondary affiliate listing; MedVi's own prices did not load | Oct 17 2026 | [3] |
| Daily GLP-1 tablet | From $249 a month | Secondary listing; drug not named | Oct 17 2026 | [3] |
| Wegovy pill or Wegovy injection | $99 membership plus the drug | Drug price not published. The same site also says "No membership or hidden fees!" | Oct 17 2026 | [4] |
For comparison, brand Zepbound costs $299 to $449 a month at LillyDirect [7]. See tirzepatide cost and semaglutide cost.
MedVi tirzepatide and semaglutide: what you would be buying
On the page we read, tirzepatide appeared as brand Zepbound, which is FDA-approved [4]. FDA's letter shows MEDVi marketed a compounded product as having the "same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound" when FDA reviewed its site in December 2025 [2]. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold [8]. A compounded drug is not the same as Zepbound, and FDA tells sellers not to say it is [9].
Care is provided through CareGLP Affiliated P.C.s and OpenLoop Health, per MedVi's site. The site names Triad Rx, RedRock Pharmacy and Beaker Pharmacy & Compounding as pharmacies [4].
Other reports about MedVi
Techdirt, an opinion outlet, reports a class action filed Mar 20 2026 in federal court in California over spam emails sent from spoofed domains, and summarizes reports of ads using made-up doctor personas [10]. We have not read the court docket or the original articles, so treat these as reports, not findings.
Who should look elsewhere
Everyone, for now. If you want a compounded drug, pick a seller with no BBB failure and no FDA letter, and ask it to name the pharmacy. If you want brand drugs, buy from LillyDirect or NovoCare or a program on our online GLP-1 comparison.
If you are already on a MedVi prescription
Do not change your dose on your own if a shipment is late; call the prescriber. FDA has reports of hospital visits from dosing errors with compounded semaglutide [8]. Units depend on the concentration on the pharmacy label, so follow that label and ask the pharmacist. The approved drugs carry a boxed thyroid tumor warning [11]. Get care for stomach pain that will not go away or an allergic reaction; call 911 in an emergency.
