Shed (formerly ShedRx) is an online weight loss service run by Shed Holdings, LLC that connects patients with independent prescribers for compounded and brand-name GLP-1 medicines.
Our verdict
AvoidA wide menu and a high Trustpilot score sit next to a BBB complaint pattern about charges for undelivered medicine, refused refunds and cancellations held to a minimum term. That pattern meets our Avoid rule.
- FDA record
- No FDA warning letter found in fda.gov searches or a compilation of 163 letters through Sept 30 2026 [3].
- BBB
- B- on the Shed profile in Lehi, UT, not accredited, with 257 complaints in 3 years (67 in 12 months). BBB is not rating the ShedRx profile in Gilbert, AZ while it evaluates a pattern of complaints [2] [4].
- Best for
- We cannot recommend it while the complaint pattern stands.
- Watch out
- Fees are non-refundable once charged, longer plans carry a minimum term, and ending a Care Membership early triggers a "True-Up" to the standard rate [5].
- Price from
- Compounded semaglutide $199/mo; compounded tirzepatide $239 or $299/mo (both shown); checked Oct 17 2026 [1]
- Sells
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide shots, oral drops, lozenges and tablets, plus Wegovy and Zepbound pens
- Pharmacy
- Not named; the site says "a licensed pharmacy" [1]
- FDA letter
- None found [3]
- BBB
- B-, not accredited, 257 complaints in 3 years [2]
What Shed costs
Shed posts starting prices, not a full dose-by-dose grid, and two products show two different prices on its own pages. Here is everything we found on Oct 17 2026. For market context, see our tirzepatide cost guide.
| Product | Listed price | What the page says | Checked | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compounded semaglutide injection | $199/mo | Starting price; plan length not shown | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| Compounded tirzepatide injection | $239/mo (banner) or $299/mo (product card) | Both figures shown; site says price does not rise with dose | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| GLP-1 lozenges (sublingual) | $199/mo | Starting price | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| GLP-1 liquid drops (oral) | $229/mo | Starting price | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| Oral semaglutide liposomal tablets | $299/mo | Shown only in a comparison table | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| Wegovy pen (brand) | $349/mo (featured) or $499/mo (product card) | Both figures shown | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
| Zepbound pen (brand) | $349/mo | Starting price | Oct 17 2026 | [1] |
Brand drugs cost less direct from the makers. LillyDirect lists Zepbound at $299 a month for the 2.5 mg starting dose [7], and NovoCare lists the Wegovy pen at $349 a month for standard doses [8]. You still need a prescriber, but you can compare on our Zepbound cost and Wegovy cost pages.
Plan terms that raise the real cost
- Monthly plans auto-renew. You must cancel at least 72 hours before billing [5].
- Shed also sells 6- and 12-month Minimum Term plans, and section 11.3 of its terms mentions a two-month minimum commitment [5].
- Cancelling a Care Membership early triggers a "True-Up" charge back to the standard rate [5].
- "All subscription fees are non-refundable once charged." Refunds apply only if you are found medically ineligible, told to stop, or Shed cannot fill the order [5].
What you get for the money
Care comes from independent provider groups [5], and Shed says it offers telehealth in all 50 states, with treatment options that vary by state [6]. Compounded drugs are made by "a licensed pharmacy" that Shed does not name [1]. Shed does state clearly that its compounded products are not FDA-approved, which matches FDA guidance [9].
The "Shed Promise" refunds what you paid if you do not lose 5% of body weight, or reach your goal weight, within 120 days of your first shipment. To qualify you must be a first-time user, attend 4 coaching sessions, weigh in twice a month, check in on at least half of all days, and claim within 30 days. The homepage words it as "reach your goal weight", which does not match the 5% version in the terms [5].
The oral drops, lozenges and liposomal tablets are compounded products. None is FDA-approved, and FDA's current safety page on unapproved GLP-1s does not address oral compounded forms at all [10]. Our oral tirzepatide guide explains what is and is not approved.
FDA letter and complaint record
FDA: We found no warning letter to Shed or ShedRx in fda.gov searches and a compilation of 163 letters through Sept 30 2026 [3]. A missing letter does not prove a clean record; our FDA warning letter tracker lists the companies that did get one.
BBB: The Shed profile (Lehi, UT) is rated B- and not accredited. It shows 257 complaints in three years and 67 in the last 12 months. By category: product 105, service 73, billing 27, sales and advertising 21, delivery 13 [2]. A second profile for ShedRx in Gilbert, AZ carries no rating while BBB evaluates "a pattern of complaints" [4].
The recurring complaint themes: charges for medicine that never arrived or double charges, refund requests answered with "We do not offer refunds", cancellations refused under a two-month commitment, orders stuck waiting for provider approval, and support that is hard to reach [2].
Reviews elsewhere: Trustpilot shows 4.6 from 1,140 reviews, 1,048 of them in the last 12 months, on a profile Shed claimed in April 2025 [11]. ConsumerAffairs shows 1.5 out of 5 from 195 reviews, 84% of them one star [12]. We do not know why the scores differ so much. Our rating rule weighs the BBB complaint record because it shows how disputes about money were handled.
Why Shed is rated Avoid
Our rating rules put a provider in Avoid when it has a pattern of billing or refund complaints. Shed's BBB record shows that pattern, and BBB itself has paused the ShedRx rating to look at it [4]. We do not link to Shed or earn money from it.
Who should look elsewhere
Shed's menu is wide: brand Zepbound and Wegovy, compounded shots, and several oral forms in one place [1]. But anyone who may need to pause, cancel or dispute a charge is exposed here, because fees are non-refundable and minimum terms apply [5]. If you want a brand drug, buying through the maker's own program is usually cheaper. If you want compounded tirzepatide, read our compounded tirzepatide guide first, then compare programs with cleaner records below.
Before you start any GLP-1
Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality [19]. As of May 31 2026, FDA had received 990 adverse event reports for compounded semaglutide and more than 730 for compounded tirzepatide [10]. The Zepbound label carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors seen in rats and says to stop the drug if pancreatitis is suspected, such as severe stomach pain that will not go away [13]. Get urgent care for signs of an allergic reaction, and call 911 in an emergency.
Alternatives to Shed
These programs carry a Clean or Caution rating. None of them has a confirmed BBB record: we could not check their BBB profiles, so a Clean or Caution rating here is not evidence of a good complaint history. Read each review. Questions people ask
Is ShedRx legit?
Shed (formerly ShedRx) is a real company, Shed Holdings, LLC, that uses independent prescribers and a licensed pharmacy. We rate it Avoid because BBB shows 257 complaints in three years, mostly about charges, refunds and cancellations, and BBB has paused the ShedRx profile rating to evaluate a complaint pattern [2] [4].
How much does ShedRx cost?
On Oct 17 2026 Shed listed compounded semaglutide from $199 a month and compounded tirzepatide at $239 or $299 a month, both figures shown on its own pages. Brand Zepbound was $349 a month and the Wegovy pen $349 or $499 a month [1].
Does ShedRx sell tirzepatide?
What pharmacy does Shed use?
Can I get a refund from Shed?
Usually not. Shed's terms say all subscription fees are non-refundable once charged, with refunds only if you are found medically ineligible, told to stop, or Shed cannot fill the order. Cancelling does not trigger a refund, and early exit from a Care Membership triggers a True-Up charge [5].
Why is Shed rated 4.6 on Trustpilot but has so many BBB complaints?
Has the FDA sent ShedRx a warning letter?
We found none in fda.gov searches or a compilation of 163 GLP-1 warning letters through Sept 30 2026 [3]. Our Avoid rating rests on the complaint record, not on an FDA letter.
