Alternatives to MedVi October 2026

Instead of MedVi, compare Found for compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, or Ro and LifeMD for brand Wegovy and Zepbound; we rate MedVi Use caution because FDA sent it a warning letter dated Feb 20 2026 over claims that its compounded drugs had the same active ingredient as Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Zepbound[21].

Why MedVi is rated Use caution

Under our rule, a past FDA letter whose cited claims were fixed, with no Avoid trigger, means Use caution. MedVi got FDA's Feb 20 2026 warning letter about “same active ingredient” marketing for compounded drugs[21]. On Mar 3 2026, FDA announced 30 warning letters to telehealth companies over compounded GLP-1 marketing[23]. The BBB file is the other record to read: an F rating, 782 complaints in three years and 145 left unanswered as of Oct 24 2026[20]. A BBB grade alone does not set our verdict, but we show it.

The quoted claims were gone from MedVi's GLP-1 site on Oct 17 2026[24]. We could not check its product images for the MEDVi-branded labels FDA also cited; if they are still live, the rating becomes Avoid. Our editorial standards set out the rule.

Programs selling the same drugs

MedVi sells compounded semaglutide and brand Wegovy and Zepbound. Every program below sells at least one of those, and none has an Avoid record. Compounded drugs and brand drugs are not the same product: see compounded semaglutide for the difference.

Prices are starting prices on the date shown and can rise with dose or plan length. Brand drug prices come from each program's page; you can also buy Zepbound and Wegovy direct, see the GLP-1 cost tracker.

Before you switch from MedVi

  1. Cancel in writing and keep the confirmation. A BBB reviewer says a payment went through and product shipped after cancelling[20].
  2. Ask your new prescriber how to move from your current dose; our GLP-1 switching guide explains what the labels say about restarting.
  3. Ask the new program which pharmacy fills your order and check that pharmacy and the program in the FDA letter tracker. MedVi itself names Triad Rx, RedRock Pharmacy and Beaker Pharmacy as partners [24].
  4. Check what the first price covers: visits, labs, the drug and shipping, and whether a longer plan is required for the low price.
  5. If you want an FDA-approved drug, compare brand self-pay prices on the Zepbound cost and Wegovy cost pages.

Safety

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. FDA asks patients to discard a multi-dose vial 28 days after first use and not to use an injectable GLP-1 that arrives warm[19]. Severe stomach pain that will not go away can be a sign of pancreatitis; get care right away, and call 911 in an emergency.

Questions people ask

What is a good alternative to MedVi?

For compounded drugs, Found lists semaglutide at $169 to $289 and tirzepatide at $239 to $359 per 4 weeks, cash, with lower prices on longer plans, checked Oct 24 2026[2]. For brand drugs, Ro lists the Wegovy pill from $149 a month plus a membership of $39 the first month[1]. Both are rated Clean.

Is MedVi legit?

MedVi is a real company, and we rate it Use caution: FDA sent it a warning letter dated Feb 20 2026[21], and the cited text claims were gone from its site when we checked. BBB gives it an F with 782 complaints in three years as of Oct 24 2026[20].

Why did FDA send MedVi a warning letter?

The Feb 20 2026 letter cited claims that MedVi's compounded drugs had the same active ingredient as Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Zepbound, which FDA treats as misleading[21].

Is there a cheaper option than MedVi for compounded semaglutide?

MedVi's price was $179 the first month and then $299 a refill, per a secondary listing checked Oct 17 2026[22]. Found listed compounded semaglutide at $169 per 4 weeks on its 12-month cash plan on Oct 24 2026[2].

Can I get brand Zepbound instead of MedVi's compounded tirzepatide?

Yes, with a prescription. Ro lists the Zepbound KwikPen at $299 to $449 a month plus its membership, checked Oct 24 2026[1]. Brand Zepbound is FDA-approved; compounded tirzepatide is not.
