How we check

The Reviewed by Wellchosen Health badge

The Reviewed by Wellchosen Health badge is a free image that a company we rate Clean may put on its site, linked to our review of it; we never sell it, and because no money changes hands the link is a plain link rather than one marked as paid or sponsored [1].

The Reviewed by Wellchosen Health badge is an image link that shows a company has a published Wellchosen Health review with a Clean rating.

What the badge means

It means one thing: we published a review of the company and, under our rating rule, it is rated Clean. Clean means we found no FDA warning letter, no BBB Pattern of Complaints alert, no regulator, state board or court finding and no sale of peptides that cannot legally be compounded. It is not a medical endorsement, a safety guarantee or a promise that a treatment will work. It does not mean a clinician reviewed the company.

The rules

  • Free, always. We do not charge for the badge, sell it, bundle it with an affiliate deal or let payment change a verdict. See how we make money.
  • Clean only. Companies rated Use caution, Avoid or Not yet rated may not show it. The current rating of every company is on our reviews page.
  • It links to the review. The badge must link to that company's review page on wellchosenhealth.com, so readers can see the facts, the dates and the flaws we found.
  • It comes down if the rating changes. If a re-check moves the company to Use caution or Avoid, permission to use the badge ends that day and we ask the company to remove it.
  • No edits. Use the file as it is. Do not change the words, add a score or stars, or place it next to claims we did not make.

Embed code

Replace your-company with the last part of your review's address and Your Company with your name. For example, a company reviewed at /reviews/hundred-health/ uses hundred-health.

</a>

The code is a plain link with no rel value. Google asks sites to mark ads and paid placements with rel="sponsored" [1]. The badge is not paid for, so it does not carry that mark. Our own affiliate links are paid, and those do carry rel="sponsored".

How to ask for it

Email us through our contact page from an address at your company's domain, with the link to your review. We confirm the current rating and reply with the code for your page. We do not use the request to change or speed up a review. If we have not reviewed your company yet, asking for the badge does not start one; our about page explains how we choose what to review.

Why we offer it

A badge link helps readers find our review, and it may send readers to our site. That benefit is the same for every Clean-rated company, and it never affects a rating. Ratings follow our review policy and editorial standards only.

Questions people ask

How much does the Reviewed by Wellchosen Health badge cost?

Nothing. The badge is free for companies we rate Clean, and it is never sold or tied to an affiliate deal. It is a plain link because Google asks sites to mark only ads and paid placements as sponsored [1].

Which companies can show the badge?

Only companies with a published Wellchosen Health review rated Clean. Companies rated Use caution, Avoid or Not yet rated may not show it, and the badge must link to the company's review.

What happens to the badge if a company's rating changes?

Permission to use it ends on the day the rating moves from Clean, and we ask the company to take it down. The review page shows the new rating and the reason.

Does the badge mean a company is safe or medically approved?

No. It means only that our published review rates the company Clean under our rating rule: no FDA warning letter, no BBB Pattern of Complaints alert, no regulator, state board or court finding and no sale of peptides that cannot legally be compounded. It is not a medical endorsement.

Why is the badge link not marked sponsored?

Because it is not paid. Google asks sites to use rel="sponsored" for links that are ads or paid placements [1], and no money changes hands for the badge.
