Lilly says LillyDirect also links to independent virtual care for obesity, but its Zepbound page does not name the companies [1]. TrumpRx's Zepbound listing sends buyers to LillyDirect too [9]. What to check before you pay

  • It is brand Zepbound. Compounded tirzepatide is not Zepbound and is not FDA-approved; FDA does not review it for safety, effectiveness or quality [7]. See compounded tirzepatide.
  • Where the drug comes from. Brand Zepbound should come from LillyDirect Pharmacy or a normal licensed pharmacy that bills it [1].
  • The price at your maintenance dose. Ask for the price at 5, 10 or 15 mg, not only 2.5 mg, and whether the 45-day refill rule applies [1].
  • Membership and how to cancel. Read the renewal terms before you join.
  • FDA and BBB record. Look the company up on our FDA warning letter tracker and in our reviews.

Medicare Part D members who meet the criteria can get the Zepbound KwikPen for up to $50 a month through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, July 1 2026 to Dec 31 2027; it does not cover vials or single-dose pens [2] [6]. More on GLP-1s and Medicare.

Zepbound safety

Zepbound has a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors seen in rodents; do not use it with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. If you use birth control pills, the label says to switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method for 4 weeks after starting and after each dose increase. Missed a dose? Take it within 4 days, or skip it [5]. Severe stomach pain that will not go away needs prompt care. Call 911 for signs of a severe allergic reaction.
