Direct primary care in Texas

Texas has a DPC law in Tex. Occ. Code chapter 162, subchapter F, passed as HB 1945 in 2015 [9]. We did not find a published Texas DPC fee in our research, so search the DPC Frontier mapper and compare fees practice by practice [1]. Our Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio guides cover membership care in those metros.

Direct primary care in Florida

Florida's DPC law came from SB 80 / HB 37, signed March 23, 2018; we have not confirmed its codified section [10]. We did not find a published Florida DPC fee in our research. Florida has more city guides on this site than any other state, including Miami and Tampa.

Checks before you join

  1. Confirm the doctor's license with your state medical board; FSMB lists every board [11].
  2. Get the monthly fee and registration fee for each person in writing.
  3. Ask which labs and medicines cost extra. Plum Health, for example, lists them separately [8].
  4. If you have an HSA, keep fees at or under $150 a month for one person or $300 for more than one, and make sure the practice does not bill insurance [6].
  5. Ask how to cancel and how much notice is needed.
